Hello and good day to you!

We have been notified by Bp Jennifer that we are to close all church buildings, and, to the maximum extent possible, work from home.

Read her letter

I know that some of you are going to be feeling pretty devastated by this - as the virus continues to spread and the responses are more and more confining (Gov. Holcombe has ordered a wide shutdown to begin at 11:59 p.m. tonight (and 10:59 central time), which is why the bishop issued this instruction.

I've been doing quite a bit of reflecting on how we might respond to the chain of events, how to frame our situation in a way that keeps us open to the work of the Holy Spirit, how to respond to our own feelings of loss, even if we weren't coming over here every day to poke our heads in the place. Knowing something is there and accessible is better than knowing it's not accessible, that's sure.

I am also posting a theological reflection on this matter of being barred from the buildings, especially the church. I hope you will find it helpful.

As always, please feel free to call me if you wish or need to talk! My cell # is 703-861-8604. If I don't answer, please leave a message, and I will call you back. Thank you.

God be with you,
