The Congregation

Christ Church is a "family sized" parish, whose people are caring, active, talented, welcoming, and affirming. Christ Church has roughly 75 active baptized members. For the past several years, average Sunday attendance has ranged from forty to forty-five, between two services (8:00 and 10:00 a.m.). Parishioners are mostly in their middle years and older, although there are a few families with young children. All are welcome here!

Members of Christ Church have participated in many local ministries and non-profit helping organizations, including the Clearinghouse and House of Hope Food Pantry, the "Last Meal of the Month" (hosted by Salvation Army), Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, the Human Relations Commission of the City of Madison, the Lide-White Boys and Girls Club, Girls Inc, Girl Scouts, and many others. A few have even served on the Madison City Council and the Parks Board.

We also participate in a range of diocesan bodies, some having served, for instance, on the Executive Council, the Standing Committee, the Commission on Ministry, the Clergy Disciplinary Board, and the Board of Directors for the Waycross Camp and Conference Center.

We are part of the Episcopal Church in the United States, which in turn is part of the global Anglican Communion.  Each week, we pray especially for members, other churches in the Diocese of Indianapolis, and provinces of the Communion.
